I have made this beautiful seaside clock at my workshop in (unfortunately landlocked) Derbyshire. I have made the glass nuggets in emerald green and turquoise blue glass. This makes the clock truly eye-catching even though it is a simple design. This clock would look great in a property by the sea, it would also make a lovely housewarming gift. You could also display this timepiece in your own home and it will remind you of your favourite seaside destination. The seaside clock is minimalist in style but it is a perfect addition to any room in the house, especially a kitchen, office or workspace.
The easy to hang wall clock has a diameter of 300mm with a gloss surface which is both pleasing to look at and easy to clean. It has been made using rigid cast acrylic with a thickness of 5mm. Cast acrylic is a good quality, hard sheet material. It does not discolour over time as some materials do and the edges of the acrylic are polished and smooth to touch. Each of the 12 glass nuggets have been individually made by fusing 3 pieces of glass together.
The ‘supersweep’ quartz movement is almost silent and requires 1 x AA battery (not included).
The cast acrylic and glass can both be recycled back to their raw materials.
